Geology and environmental science members complete Detroit Free Press marathon

On Sunday, Oct. 21, five WSU geology and environmental science members completed the 26.2-mile relay in the Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon.

The international course took the runners over the Ambassador Bridge to Windsor, back to Detroit through the Detroit-Windsor tunnel, out to Mexican Village, through Corktown, out to Belle Isle, and back to downtown Detroit in approximately five hours.

Participants included environmental science majors Bo Betzler and Paula Lancaster, geology and environmental science co-major Mellisa Powers, geology alumnus Chris Goeddeke (B.S. 2012) and Larry Lemke (team captain).
