Environmental science student inducted into Phi Beta Kappa

Rebecca Jackson, recipient of the 2007 Environmental Science Undergraduate Student Merit Award, has been inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has long been the most prestigious academic honor society in higher education. Membership in Phi Beta Kappa is granted only to those college juniors and seniors who have demonstrated unusually high accomplishment in a program of study that is based on the liberal arts.

However, high achievement alone is not sufficient. In addition, Phi Beta Kappa seeks a balance of knowledge across many disciplines.

As a student of environmental science, Rebecca Jackson exemplifies the qualities of a dedicated scholar whose interdisciplinary interests will serve her well in her future endeavors.
