New book a product of WSU collaboration
The Department is pleased to announce the 2020 publication of Economic Empowerment of Women in the Islamic World: Theory and Practice, by Toseef Azid and Jennifer Ward-Batts, former faculty members at Wayne State.
In this volume, the authors provide a platform for scholars to present various theoretical and practical viewpoints relating to Muslim women's empowerment. Their goal is to bring these points to generate further discussion among a wider audience of scholars and readers who wish to have a deeper, broader and more complete understanding of the issues affecting Muslim women's empowerment.
Professor Azid is Professor at The University of Qassim (Saudi Arabia) and former visiting professor at Wayne State University. Professor Ward-Batts was formerly assistant professor of economics at Wayne State University. The work evolved from a collaboration during Prof. Azid's visits to Wayne State University.
