Rising Scholars Program

The Rising Scholars Program (RSP) offers specially designated sections of MAT 0993 and MAT 1070, taught by highly trained instructors in a combined lecture-workshop format.

RSP provides a strong sense of community and is abundant in resources to support student learning. The program offers individual tutoring, staff office hours, study groups and a unique support system consisting of instructors, workshop leaders, undergraduate assistants and student support personnel.

Who is the Rising Scholars Program for?

RSP is for students who will need to master a great deal of mathematics, but who presently lack the background to begin taking college-level math (MAT 1800). It's an intense program for students who have the determination to excel, and it provides students with a challenging and serious mathematical experience.  Students who successfully complete MAT 0993 and MAT 1070 with RSP develop a solid foundation for calculus and beyond.

• No application or interview is necessary RSP.
• To register for MAT 0993, simply select any designated RSP section.
