2006 Black History Month events
The Department of Africana Studies invites you to come celebrate this year's annual Black History Month events and activities.
The 2006 commemoration of the African American historical legacy will include: a talk on the Black Panther Party and Black Consciousness, and a historical exhibit Socially Conscious Exhibit.
You will also be able to join us at our book signing and discussion with WSU's Prof. Jorge Chinea, speaking on his latest publication on West Indian immigrant workers.
Don't miss the opportunity to see the presentation on Afro-Brazilian Politics by Africana Studies Professor, Ollie Johnson.
Rounding out this year's events, you are welcome will be a poetry reading dedicated to Black History and Women's History Month featuring WSU's Distinguished Professor Melba Joyce Boyd, with guest readers Profs. Opal Moore from Spelman College and author Leslie Reese.
