William Thompson, professor emeritus

Professor Emeritus William L. Thompson passed away on Nov. 27 at the age of 86. Professor Thompson served on the faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences from 1959 until he retired in 1993. He was a zoologist and was especially interested in birds and their song patterns.

He served as president of the Michigan Audubon Society and of the Wayne State Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, 9601 Hubbard Ave, Livonia, MI 48150.
