CLAS donates cases of protective equipment to first-responders
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has donated another shipment of vital equipment to first responders and medical professionals.
Today, more than 50 cases of gloves and several hundred pairs of protective goggles were handed off to the Wayne State University Police Department for distribution to local hospitals.
Working in coordination with WSU's Division of Research, the supplies were donated by CLAS's Science Stores which work to keep the college's 300-plus labs equipped year-round.
"We want all first-responders in our community to feel safe with enough protective gear to face the COVID-19 pandemic in Detroit," says Claudio Verani, CLAS associate dean for research and space.
These supplies are in addition to several equipment donations previously made by individual CLAS labs. To learn more about WSU's COVID-19 response efforts, visit wayne.edu.
