Wayne State’s Turchyn earns prestigious teaching award
Dr. Nataliyah Turchyn, a lecturer in Wayne State University’s Department of Biological Sciences, has been selected for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching, the university’s highest honor for educators.
Turchyn is recognized for her dedication to student success, maintaining high academic standards and providing individualized attention. Unlike traditional faculty-driven nominations, her selection stemmed from direct nominations by students, highlighting her impact in the classroom.
She joins an esteemed group of past recipients from the department, including Drs. Mark vanBerkum, Philip Cunningham, Carl Freeman, Dan Kashian and Aleksandar Popadic.
