Wayne State’s Miriam Greenberg receives Board of Governors Distinguished Faculty Fellowship
Professor Miriam Greenberg has been awarded the Board of Governors Distinguished Faculty Fellowship, recognizing her ongoing contributions to scholarship and research.
A leading expert in phospholipid biochemistry and cellular function, Greenberg uses the eukaryotic model system yeast to study the role of phospholipids in cellular membranes and their connection to human diseases such as bipolar disorder and Barth’s syndrome.
In addition to her research, Greenberg has served as an associate dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, overseeing research and special programs. She also developed an undergraduate study program examining the historical, social, and economic aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Greenberg is the second faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences to receive this prestigious fellowship in two years, following Professor James Tucker’s recognition last year.
