Biological Sciences Ph.D. student awarded prestigious cardiovascular research fellowship
Kendall Case, a Ph.D. student in the Greenberg laboratory at Wayne State University, has been awarded a predoctoral fellowship from the Detroit Cardiovascular Training Program (DCTP). The highly competitive, NIH-funded program supports top graduate students conducting cardiovascular research across the Wayne State campus.
Case's research focuses on the regulatory mechanisms governing the activity of the inositol biosynthetic enzyme MIPS. Disruptions in this pathway can lead to lipid dysregulation, cardiovascular disease, and other health issues.
In addition to advancing research, DCTP aims to drive economic growth by fostering innovative translational approaches to cardiovascular treatment.
