Professor Miriam Greenberg Awarded Board of Governors Distinguished Faculty Fellowship

Professor Miriam Greenberg was recently awarded the Board of Governors Distinguish Faculty Fellowship. This high honor is based on the recognition of continuing attainment of scholarship and research achievements. Dr. Greenberg is a widely-recognized expert in the study of phospholipid biochemistry and cellular function. Her work uses the eukaryotic model system yeast to study the role of phospholipids in cellular membranes as they relate to the human diseases of Bipolar Disorder and Barth's Syndrome. Dr. Greenberg has served as an Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences where she is in charge of Research and Special Programs. Of particular note, Dr. Greenberg has initiated and developed a study program for undergraduate students designed to study the historical, social, and economic aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Congratulations to Miriam on this well-deserved award.

This is the second Distinguished Faculty Fellowship awarded to members of the Department of Biological Sciences in two years. Last year, Professor James Tucker won this prestigious fellowship.
