Dr. Nataliyah Turchyn wins Presidential Excellence in Teaching Award
Dr. Nataliyah Turchyn, a lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences, has been notified that she has been selected to receive a Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching this year.
This is the most prestigious teaching award in the university. Dr. Turchyn is well recognized as an instructor who is dedicated to teaching her students at the highest level, maintaining top standards and expectations, and giving her students her time and attention.
Her nomination was initiated by soliciting nominations from our majors rather than being initiated by the nominee or the department. This is a highly deserved recognition to Dr. Turchyn's efforts and dedication. She joins quite an expansive group of previous winners in our department, including Drs. Mark vanBerkum, Philip Cunningham, Carl Freeman, Dan Kashian, and Aleksandar Popadic.
