ANNOUNCER: Dean Hartwell, your college has made a big commitment to students’ futures, by partnering with some of the most prominent businesses and industry in Michigan.
HARTWELL: Yes. Of course, we believe that a great education is rooted in a great scholarly experience. But we also believe it benefits from a hands-on experience, too.
ANNOUNCER: What are you doing to secure that experience?
HARTWELL: We’re expanding internship opportunities for students in all of our programs. This commitment to internships is giving our students networking opportunities, showing them how to navigate in real workplace settings and gives them a sense of career readiness.
ANNOUNCER: This is a great commitment for the future of your graduates.
HARTWELL: … And for our partners in industry too. Our program is giving businesses an opportunity to mentor some of Wayne State’s best and brightest, engage them in their industry and, in many cases hire them as soon as they graduate. We’re also continuing to expand the program in the area. So, we’re always welcoming more partnerships.
ANNOUNCER: What’s the college’s goal?
HARTWELL: We want each of our students to experience at least one internship before graduating. It’s what we believe will be just one more advantage when they begin their career journeys.
