Families of Future Warriors

On Apr. 23, 2022, Wayne State hosted Families of Future Warriors – a day of fun and exploration designed for children (ages 8 to 15) with one or more incarcerated parents. Kids and their families learned through hands-on activities, explored campus and enjoyed lunch at Wayne State's Towers Cafe. Interested in future events or partnerships with Wayne State? Event schedule

  • 9 a.m.: Buses depart from the Downtown Boxing Gym and Clark Park (9:20 a.m. at Marygrove College)
  • 9:30 a.m.: Guests are welcomed at Old Main
  • 10 a.m.: Welcome by speaker and author Darryl Woods
  • 10:30 a.m.: Guests tour museums, attend planetarium shows and other demonstrations in Old Main
  • 12:15 p.m.: Walk to lunch, tour Wayne State's Natural History Museum
  • 12:45 p.m.: Lunch
  • 1:30 p.m.: Bus departure from Anthony Wayne Drive back to DBG, Marygrove and Clark Park
