A note of encouragement from Chair Daniel Geller

These are extraordinarily difficult times. When confronted in March with a series of unprecedented challenges to the operations of the department and university as a result of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the political science faculty, program directors, staff, and graduate teaching assistants responded as only consummate professionals can.

They adapted to the enormous demands of unanticipated remote instruction and working from home without disrupting the academic programs, research, and operations of the department. These professors, directors, staff, and graduate students are remarkable individuals who demonstrated the highest levels of competence and compassion for their students.

For their skill and expertise, and their unwavering commitment to the ideals of their profession, they are due a great debt of thanks from us all.

Daniel Geller, professor and chair
Department of Political Science
