Marqueta C. Huyck Lecture Series

Marqueta C. Huyck
Professor of nutrition and food science

Our annual Marqueta C. Huyck Lecture is named in honor of Professor Marqueta Huyck, a professor of nutrition in the department for many years in the early days of the department.

She was a pioneer educator who cared greatly for her students when at that time many female students were trying to break into the profession of dietetics. She was credited for getting graduates of the program entering into hospitals and other workplaces.

As a colleague, she was the best one that anyone could ask for, always willing to help, and clearly, a generous one, as evidenced from her bestowment of this lecture in nutrition series so that the professionals and the general public can learn the most current nutrition knowledge and breakthroughs.

The Symposium includes speakers from across the world and is streamed live to the web. For information on the next lecture contact the department or Debra Zebari, debra.zebari@wayne.edu.
