The Math Department Welcomes Professor Kosuke Sugita

Kosuke Sugita is a new postdoctoral researcher working in Professor Hengguang Li's group at the Department of Mathematics. Kosuke completed his Ph.D. in applied mathematics at New Jersey Institute of Technology in the summer of 2023, with focus on  Boundary Integral Equation methods to numerically solve boundary value problems for elliptic partial differential equations.
His dissertation is titled "Boundary Integral Equation Methods for Superhydrophobic Flow and Integrated Photonics," and his research interests include numerical analysis and scientific computing.

At Wayne State University, he works on research projects applying Finite Element Methods to solving elliptic partial differential equations.  In Fall of 2023, he is teaching MAT 2150 (Differential equations and matrix algebra) and MAT 2030 (Calculus III).  Welcome to Wayne State, Professor Sugita!
