Professors Bachelis and Handel promoted to emeritus

Retired professors Bachelis and Handel have been granted emeritus status. Professor Bachelis has worked in functional analysis and combinatorics. He has also participated in the national debate on mathematics education. Professor Handel has made a number of contributions to algebraic topology, including some with implications for approximation theory. Our congratulations to both.
