Wayne State math dept. welcomes new postdoctoral researcher

Wayne State's Department of Mathematics extends a warm welcome to Nick Rekuski, our new postdoctoral researcher.

Nick will be with the department for two years beginning in fall 2022. He will be working with Luca Candelori, Vladimir Chernyak and John Klein under the auspices of the Department of Energy Grant award number DE-SC0022134.

Nick is a pure mathematician who focuses primarily on algebraic geometry. He specializes in vector bundles on algebraic varieties as well as derived categories. Before coming to Wayne State he completed his Ph.D. at Michigan State University under the direction of Rajesh Kulkarni.

His thesis title is "Wall-Crossing for Tilt Stability." Prior to that, Nick completed his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. In his free time, Nick likes to play board games, cook, camp, and travel.
