George Yin Receives Distinguished Professor Appointment

Professor George Yin is one of 26 university faculty members to have received a distinguished professor appointment, the highest academic achievement at Wayne State University.

Dr. Yin joined the math department in 1987 and became a professor in 1996. Conducting research in stochastic systems and applications, he co-authored many research books and refereed journal papers. He was co-chair of SIAM Conference on Control & Its Application in 2011, co-chair of two AMS, SIAM, and IMS summer research conferences, and chair of a number of SIAM prize selection committees. He is an associate editor of SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, Applied Mathematics and Optimization, and on the editorial board of a number of other journals and book series. He is a fellow of IEEE, IFAC, and SIAM. Recently, he received another 5-year NSF grant to support his research.
