Wayne State welcomes welcomes new mathematics postdocs

Wayne State's Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce the appointments of Jarod Hart and Rebecca Stockbridge as assistant professors (research).

Jarod Hart's research interests include harmonic analysis of Euclidean spaces, integral transforms, operational calculus, and operator theory. His thesis title is "Multilinear Littlewood-Paley square function and vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund theory." He will be completing his Ph.D. in May at the University of Kansas under the direction of Rodolfo Torres.

Rebecca Stockbridge is an applied mathematician whose research interests lie primarily in probability, stochastic modeling, and decision-making under uncertainty. She is currently completing her Ph.D. at the University of Arizona under the direction of Guzin Bayraksan. Her thesis title is "Bias and variance reduction in optimality gap estimation for stochastic programs."

During their two-year appointments here, these new faculty members will be conducting research with senior members of the department.
