Wayne State is home to the Global Health Alliance (GHA), an interdisciplinary group formed to train leaders in global health who will set national and international standards of best practice in global and urban health education, service, research, policy, and advocacy.

During the coronavirus outbreak, many of the members of the GHA are on the front lines working in the emergency rooms in local hospitals. They need your to help them fight the pandemic locally. Here's how you join the fight:

Make and donate surgical (bouffant) caps

Health worker holding surgical masks. The hospitals are in short supply. Any design is fine; here are two patterns with and without elastic (elastic is in short supply because so many people are making masks): Surgical cap pattern one (no elastic).

Once you make them, you can drop them off at the Old Redford Food Center on 21673 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48219. They are partnering with us to collect the caps. From there they will be delivered directly to our hospitals and emergency rooms.

We are grateful for your support as we help and serve our leaders!
