Meet the GSW Subject Librarian, Allia McCoy!
Meet the GSW Subject Librarian, Allia McCoy!
GSW is thrilled to welcome our new Subject Librarian, Allia McCoy (she/her/hers)! As a Social Sciences librarian, Allia's role is to help students conduct research and learn about library resources that can help them be successful. Check out the GSW Research Guide that Allia curates here!
We asked Allia to tell us a little more about herself and her role:
My subject specialty areas are Gender Sexuality and Women's Studies, African American Studies and Urban Studies and Urban Planning. I feel both excited and privileged to work in subject areas so close to social justice and the pulse of change and growth in the world. I plan to inspire and encourage the students and empower them to become researchers!
I'm excited in the near future to bring drop-in workshops for interdisciplinary/intersectional research to the libraries. We are hoping later in the semester to pilot these workshops and give students a way to connect and learn through the University library system and with their peers in multi disciplines so look out for that coming soon.
Allia McCoy's office is located in Purdy Kresge 134. You can reach her by phone or email; feel free to reach out to to set up an appointment in person or via Zoom!
