Wayne State receives NSF grant to study hearing neurological disorder

Jinsheng Zhang, Ph.D., associate professor and associate research director of Otolaryngology at the School of Medicine and Yong Xu, Ph.D., associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, have received a $330,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.

Their research is in the area of tinnitus, a neurological disorder that affects more than 250 million people worldwide. They are working on the development of an implantable device that will suppress tinnitus.
