Impact and innovation

A Message from the Chair

Our CSD faculty and students made a big impact in the 2015-2016 academic year! Many thanks to all of you who have supported us with your time, talent and treasure. With your help, the stage is set for exciting progress in the year ahead.

We are working in the vast area of human communication, one of the most fascinating topics of study! Our efforts at the forefront of research and clinical care translate into knowledge and skills to help others reach their highest potential in communication.

Individuals with communication impairments and their families turn to audiologists and speech-language pathologists when difficulties arise in hearing, speech, swallowing, language and related cognitive areas that in-terfere with the human need to communicate. Our clinicians and researchers address complex problems and work toward the gains that are so necessary for children to succeed academically and socially, and for adults to participate in life activities.

Our CSD research in speech, language and hearing sciences extends across a wide range of collaborative genetic, neurologic, physiologic, and behavioral studies addressing the organization of normal communication and how it is limited developmentally or breaks down in illness or injury. We are committed to fostering innovation and strong partnerships in a spirit of service to the community.

Join us - our energy and accomplishments grow when we work together!
