Wayne State offensive tackle Nate Theaker and Grand Valley State running back Marty Carter were named to the Little All-America first team on Friday.

Theaker (White Lake Lakeland), who played at left tackle this season, was the offensive lineman of the year in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He was All-GLIAC as a guard in 2014 and missed the 2015 season because of a back injury.

Carter, a sophomore, ran for 1,908 yards and 20 touchdowns. He finished fifth in voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy, which goes to the best player in Division II.

Grand Valley center Aaron Cox, Ferris State center Jack Daugherty, Ferris State defensive end Zach Sieler, Grand Valley defensive lineman Sydner Omameh and Ferris State defensive back Tavierre Thomas made the third team.
