Ph.D. candidate Maggie Tucker awarded at Ecological Society national meetings

Madelyn (Maggie) Tucker, a Ph.D. student in the laboratory of Dan Kashian, was awarded Best Student Paper for the natural history section by the Ecological Society of America (ESA).

She presented the paper, "Post-wildfire biological legacies in northern Lower Michigan: Effects on stand structure and plant community diversity" at the ESA annual meeting in Ft. Lauderdale in early August.

She was commended for "the scientific value of the work and it's importance for conservation, as well as the professionalism of the presentation." ESA is the leading national, professional society in ecological science.
