Bio students win at the CLAS Undergraduate Research Symposium

Era CobaniEra Cobani

Era was one of the winners of the CLAS 2021 Undergraduate Research Symposium for her research on genomic Characterization of Protein Methyltransferases Identifies Therapeutic Targets for Cancer Treatment.

Cobani is a biological sciences major who conducted her research with her co-authors Zeng-Quan Yang, Yuanyuan Jiang, and Rui Wang. Her research was conducted under Wayne State faculty member Zeng-Quan Yang.


Nolan Shoukri

Nolan was one of the winners of the CLAS 2021 Undergraduate Research Symposium for his research on Point Mutation Disrupting PML I Self-interaction Interferes With ND10 Formation.

Shoukri is a biological sciences major who conducted his research under Wayne State faculty member Haidong Gu.


Tareq Hanna

Hanna won a top prize at the 2021 Undergraduate Research Symposium with his project titled Dopathiazines Magnify Mn-dependent Oxidative Stress in Manganism.

Hanna, a biological sciences student, conducted his research under Dr. David Njus.
