Dr. Ryzewski reappointed to the State Historic Preservation Review Board (SHPRB)

Governor Whitmer has re-appointed Krysta Ryzewski, associate professor of anthropology, to the State Historic Preservation Review Board (SHPRB). This is Dr. Ryzewski's second three-year term on the board.

The SHPRB is responsible for reviewing and approving sites in Michigan nominated for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, it has appellate jurisdiction under the Local Historic Districts Act and provides guidance and professional recommendations to the State Historic Preservation Office.

Governor Whitmer's release stated "Krysta Ryzewski, Ph.D., of Ypsilanti, is an associate professor of anthropology at Wayne State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Brown University, Master of Philosophy in Archaeology and Heritage Management from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Arts in Archeology from Boston University. Dr. Ryzewski is reappointed to represent historic archeology for a term commencing Feb. 10, 2021 and expiring Dec. 31, 2024."
