Our good friend and colleague, Jim Veneri, died this past summer after
an illness of several months. He will be fondly remembered by all
who had contact with him. His love of learning, especially in mathematics
and physics, together with his extraordinary willingness to help anyone
who wanted to learn, made him a very valuable member of the community.
No one will ever know the whole list of people he has helped in one way
or another over the years he worked here.
The department chair, Dan Frohardt, kindly wrote up
at the wake held for Jim. He announced there that the
department intends to pursue an appropriate means to honor Jim's memory.
