 Call for Papers Submission Form

The conference committee invites submissions of abstracts for poster board and panel presentations from junior and senior faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as, community members conducting Latino/a and Latin American initiative research. The conference organizers are particularly interested in receiving proposals that link one or more of the themes from below:

  • New Media & Latino/a Identities
  • Latinization of the U.S.
  • Community Engagement
  • Latin American Immigration/Migration to U.S.
  • Youth Self-Empowerment
  • Illegalization/Criminalization of Latino/as
  • Afro-Latino/as and Indigenous-Latino/as Identities
  • Education: The Dream Act & DACA
  • Media Representation of Latino/as
  • Activism Youth & Public Policy
  • Economic Development
  • Language Rights
  • Voting Drives: Latino/a Youth
  • Political Empowerment
  • Trade and Globalization
  • Youth Movements & Labor Activism
  • Historical & Current Attacks on Ethnic Studies

Submission Content

Submissions must include:

  1. An abstract of 300 words, consisting of:
    1. statement of purpose
    2. paper description,
    3. your conclusions or final summary and
    4. who will benefit from attending
  2. A brief biography
  3. The details listed on the online submission form.
