Clinic volunteer opportunities

Wayne State's Psychology Clinic offers volunteer opportunities to psychology students in customer satisfaction with psychotherapy and assessment. The program is led by Drs. Douglas Barnett, Marla Bartoi and Marilyn Franklin.

Students will work in a mental health setting, interact with clients and have exposure to data collection, entry, analysis and the psychological literature.

 Qualifications

  • Psychology major
  • Interest in grad school
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Minority students highly encouraged to participate
  • Must be able to commit five hours per week
  • Two-semester commitment preferred

John Teahan Endowed Memorial Award

The John Teahan award is annually granted to a third-year clinical graduate student who has demonstrated exceptional personal drive in the development of clinical skills and progress in the training program. Award recipients receive a gift of $1,000 and their name permanently recorded on a plaque in the Teahan Library at the clinic.
